Vintage Style Halloween Pipe Cleaner Ornaments

I just finished some fun Halloween ornaments. I've got a box full of bump chenille, some of it is vintage, that's been sitting in my work room. Sometimes I get motivated to use it
I used some authentic vintage scraps for some of the ornaments. I have a collection of the pumpkins and witches. I always debate about whether I want to use it or not. Some people might argue with me, but I think it needs to be used. That was the original purpose.
Hope you like these! I sell them in my other shop on Etsy

Vintage Halloween Postcard - Weaver Witch

Sometimes my favorite Halloween cards aren't the most colorful. I adore this one because of the design, poem, and the lettering. This was drawn by E. Weaver, and I can't find any information about him or her. I know that they illustrated a series of postcards like this one, all with similar ink work. Hope you like this!
It also has one of those cute little turn of the century red roofed houses in the corner. I'm estimating this card as maybe 1910 or so? I could be wrong

Vintage Victorian Trade Card - Witch Hazel

Such a pretty witch hazel trade card, you don't even notice that it's for piles (hemorrhoids)
I love the smell of witch hazel. On really hot days I'll sometimes put it on my horse after he's had a bath. Makes him smell great!

Vintage Halloween Witch Postcard - Falls Down a Hill

This Halloween postcard was published by Whitney, but I'm still trying to find out the name of the artist. Kind of like a Jack and Jill scene, I thought it was really sweet!

Antique Milliner Business Card - London

This one is a treasure, it's a trade card for London milliner Mary Elliot. I'm not sure of the exact age, but her address is mentioned as "at the Wheat Sheaf and Star", so this is before street numbers. Maybe 1700's? Can't be sure.
Located on the Strand, she sells laces, caps, handkerchiefs, and ruffles! I left this in original condition. Free to download for personal use.

Dolly Dingle Paper Dolls

I shared a Grace Drayton Halloween postcard yesterday. She is also famous for her Dolly Dingle paper dolls that were published for years in the Pictoral Review magazine. There are lots of reproductions out there, but this is a scan from the original magazine, dated around the early 1930s. Scan quality isn't great, but it should print fine!

Free for personal use only please.

Grace Drayton Vintage Halloween Postcard - Girl and Pumpkin

So I'm sneaking in more Halloween, I can't help it! This postcard was published by Raphael Tuck in 1913, and while it's not signed, this is definitely by Grace Drayton. She studied at the Drexel University School of Design for Women here in Philadelphia. She went on to create the famous Campbell's kids in 1904 (which this little girl is no doubt related!). She worked as a freelance artist, and is also famous for the Dolly Dingle paper dolls. I'll post some of those later on this week.

Vintage Halloween Postcard - Whitney Witch

Whitney cards are among my favorites! Just a little history, George C. Whitney, after a stint in the Union Army went into business with his brother who ran a stationery shop in Worcester Mass. The company produced Valentine cards and then branched out to other holidays, and items. His Halloween cards are favorites of many collectors. Sadly, the business was liquidated in 1942, but you can still visit the Whitney Historical Museum in Worcester!

I'm a little late again today. I took my horse out for a ride before it got hot. He was actually more interested in staying with his friends and munching grass, and he let me know that several times on the walk  He has built in barn GPS!!!
I love this Raphael Tuck postcard. Raphael Tuck & Sons, based in London, was the world's largest postcard publisher during the late 19th and early 20th century. They also made wonderful children's books, and when I find some, I'll post them for you.
His animal postcards are beautiful. Hope you like this one! I put it on an aged background for you.

So it's getting closer to Halloween (yeah, I know it's only July, but I like to anticipate!). I'm working on fall crafts already, and if you are too, I thought you might like this. The pumpkin label is from the late 1800's and is one of the best examples of decorative advertising, in my opinion. Here it is in full color, and with an aged background.
