Vintage Halloween Postcard - Keyhole Witch

This great halloween postcard is part of a series of keyhole themed cards. I'm not sure of the artist, but I have several of them. The images are embossed and have a metallic ink border.
This one has a bit of a story to it. The witch in the image is playing an old party game where you put flour in a bowl and pack it down as hard as you can. You tip it out onto a plate and put a ring, or something else fun on top of the pile. Players use a knife to slice away the flour, and the one who makes the ring fall has to either do a stunt, or "won't get married that year", or something else. It's fun, I used to do this with my kids (we used gummy bears).

Vintage Halloween Witch Postcard

Not sure if I posted this one before, if so oops! I don't think I did though. I really like this little fortune teller witch. Not sure who the disembodied head is supposed to be. Maybe one of the Fates?

Halloween Postcard - Pumpkin Man

This postcard was published around 1905 and is one of my favorites. It features a veggie pumpkin man (veggie people were very popular Halloween card subjects then) and a grumpy looking witch.

Frexias Halloween Postcard

This is a pretty rare postcard. It was illustrated by Jason Frexias who worked with the Winsch publishing company. He's known for his toddler characters and has a large series of postcards that were done in the early 1900s. His work wasn't copyrighted and has been copied extensively. I'm not a fan of his toddlers, but I love the overall look of his halloween illustrations.

Halloween Dont's Vintage Postcard

Morning everybody! I think I'm sort of recovered from the college move yesterday, but I think it's going to take a bit of caffeine!
This is one of my favorite series of vintage Halloween postcards, the Halloween Dont's. Make sure you don't do any of these things on Halloween or else! The series was published around 1911 by M.L.Jackson. I'm not sure if he was the publisher or the artist. All of his postcards are vividly printed with embossing. Hope you like this one!
Here's what it says: Don't go to sleep on Halloween, but watch the way the Witches fly, If it's to the west it's all for the best, Your lover is true then go to rest. (Hmm...)

Vintage Halloween Witch Postcard - Red Lantern

I have a lot of favorite Halloween postcards, but this is near the top of the list. Published by Landsdorf in early 1900's, this is part of a series of lantern witches. Each postcard has a witch with a different color lantern, and what your fate will be if you happen to see her.
These postcards are really hard to find in good condition. They were embossed I believe, and there's usually lots of chipping. Most of the ones I've found are too damaged for me to restore properly, but this one was in great shape.
They also had glitter, and you can see remnants around the witch and the moon. I'm always on the hunt for the other lantern colors!

Vintage Halloween Precautions Postcard

The elusive E. Nash was a postcard publisher around the early 1910s and is famous for his series of Halloween postcards, both the Halloween Don'ts, and Halloween Precautions. This is one of the 6 Precautions postcards. He also published many other holiday cards.
The Don'ts and Precautions are all really quirky. This one says: Avoid grinning black cats on a full green moon, If your lover is true he'll come back soon, It breaks the charm, the witches scream, and never return till next Halloween.

Vintage Style Halloween Pipe Cleaner Ornaments

I just finished some fun Halloween ornaments. I've got a box full of bump chenille, some of it is vintage, that's been sitting in my work room. Sometimes I get motivated to use it
I used some authentic vintage scraps for some of the ornaments. I have a collection of the pumpkins and witches. I always debate about whether I want to use it or not. Some people might argue with me, but I think it needs to be used. That was the original purpose.
Hope you like these! I sell them in my other shop on Etsy

Vintage Halloween Postcard - Weaver Witch

Sometimes my favorite Halloween cards aren't the most colorful. I adore this one because of the design, poem, and the lettering. This was drawn by E. Weaver, and I can't find any information about him or her. I know that they illustrated a series of postcards like this one, all with similar ink work. Hope you like this!
It also has one of those cute little turn of the century red roofed houses in the corner. I'm estimating this card as maybe 1910 or so? I could be wrong
