Vintage Halloween Precautions Postcard

The elusive E. Nash was a postcard publisher around the early 1910s and is famous for his series of Halloween postcards, both the Halloween Don'ts, and Halloween Precautions. This is one of the 6 Precautions postcards. He also published many other holiday cards.
The Don'ts and Precautions are all really quirky. This one says: Avoid grinning black cats on a full green moon, If your lover is true he'll come back soon, It breaks the charm, the witches scream, and never return till next Halloween.
Free to download for personal use.

This beautiful Redoute rose print would look so pretty framed. The text at the bottom isn't original. It was in bad shape so I rewrote it using a modern font. I also brightened up the original image. Free to download for personal use.

I found a pretty rose Victorian trade card that was used for a piano business. I removed the writing and changed the background color. It was grey, and I like this warmer brown better. I hope you can use it, it would make a really nice gift tag. Free to download for personal use.

I really want to go to the beach. I grew up by the beach and went almost every day in the summer. Now I'm kind of land locked and don't get there very often. This postcard reminded me how much I really want a vacation at the "shore". I guess this was a budget postcard because you had to write in the name of the town you were visiting!  Free to download for personal use.

Victorian Postcard with Girl and Apple Blossoms - Free Download

Today's freebie is a pretty Victorian girl posting with apple blossoms. I thought it was appropriate because the apple tree in my back yard is full of flowers (and bees!). I added a border to the card, then decided to superimpose the back of the card.  I love how it came out!

Has anyone ever tasted Sarsaparilla? My grandpa gave it to me as a kid. I thought it was going to taste like Root Beer, and I was so wrong! This little Sarsaparilla girl is very pretty though, no doubt because she gets dosed with the stuff every day! Free to download for personal use.
Read the poem on the back of the card, it's pretty funny!
